As one of the leaders in the drum & bass scene for over 15 years, Viper Recordings have a yearly tradition of curating an Annual LP, featuring a selection of favourites plus a few new exclusives, hand-picked by Futurebound. Before unveiling the full tracklist of Annual 2021, Viper Recordings are proud to present this first sampler to end the year with two brand new exclusives from V O E and Halflight. Guaranteed to whet your appetite for more, this sampler closes off what has been another hugely successful year for the label, and sets the bar high for the rest of the annual to drop in early 2021.
A relatively new name to the world of drum & bass, Australian duo V O E have certainly been a hot topic in recent months. Fusing together raw rock n' roll energy with live vocals and killer productions, V O E have been delivering a fresh take on drum & bass that will see them achieve great things in coming years. With so much raw talent, it was only fitting they release with Viper, a label known for developing some of the biggest names in drum & bass today under Futurebound's guidance. 'We Go On' is an electrifying record with strong male & female vocals and vibrant energy reminiscent of early Pendulum with a twist, proving the duo are certainly ones to watch in 2021.
And as if one track wasn't enough, familiar face Halflight closes the year off on an impossibly strong note with 'The Bodysnatcher'. An eerie sci-fil thriller and ode to classic horror, this menacing stomper is just begging to be played out in the club. Nitty, gritty, and intricate, Halflight delivers shadowy filth from start to finish with a wicked switch up on the second drop that is sure to bring out your best bass face.
