Flexor Audio typically goes crazy for the d&b beats and, while we've come to think of it as primarily a home to fast jungle breaks, this new EP from newcomer AK:Hash breaks the mould and enters a new territory for them. The opener "Head Rip" is a charismatic, pseudo hip-hop experiment with a distinctively UK flex; don't watch the bassline, though, it'll blow you away before you know it. "Pussy" lays down its stumbling MPC beats over a blockade of mutant bass and distorted sirens, whereas "Slug Life" is the odd one out; a glitchy, minimal pandemic of sounds and beats is carried by a tribal swing, making this our favourite of the lot.
