London-based heavy dubstep crew The Aliens UK make their debut for Dubstar, delivering a pulverizing EP of sci-fi-tinged, sub-heavy dancefloor smashers. "Renegade Daleks" appears to be an attempt to get Dalek overlord Davros up and dancing, a tricky task given his infamous lack of legs. Still, the track's devastating fusion of surging bass, punishing rhythms and harsh rave stabs sounds tailor-made for peaktime. Elsewhere, there's some slightly deeper, tech-tinged fare in the shape of "Say What", while "Hands Up (Version)" laces intricate, intergalactic melodies over wobbling low-end pressure. It's hardly subtle, but that's not the point: this is all about straight-up late night heaviness.
