Review: Next up from the Goddezz team, we have a fantastic slice of the nostalgic new school, exploring hardcore and breakbeat influences with this latest single from Coco Bryce. The track itself takes the title 'Luv Ain EZ', combining shuttered rave-ready organ leads and colourful, percussively driven drum beats to give us a flavoursome throwback to a classic period of rave history. Those chords cut through the mix so cleanly and also work as a wicked lead melody, before moving on LMajor's jungle-inspired rethink, focussing much more-so on moogy bass leads and clean drum rhythms to take the track in a completely different direction. Fantastic work from all involved!

Imprint Breaks 'N' Pieces

Review: Next up on Breaks 'N' Pieces, we are back with another killer four track display, this time welcoming the futuristic yet industrial tastes of Bolam inside to deliver an array of outstanding originals. We begin with 'Thunderclap', a monstrous combination of creeping bitcrushed sub-lines and murky percussive stutters, giving the track a haunted vibe right from the off. Next, The jungle influences become a lot more apparent as 'Hype Shifter' delivers more belting 808 bass pulses, this time in combination with skippy breaksy sampling, followed by the aquatic synthy drifts of 'Indecipherable' for a bit of a switch in pace. Finally, the legend that is Al Wootton arrives to give his unique twist on 'Hype Shifter', morphing the track into a swampy speed-garage fusion, finding a truly unique sonic pocket to play with. Lovely stuff!

It seems to have been a long time coming, but the Freestylers have finally launched their new 'Other Worlds' album project, delivering 14 drum and bass & breaks inspired originals, exploring the full spectrum of their sound in style. The beauty of this project from the off is the variation in sound we are able to enjoy, from the slower, more original hardcore flavours of 'My Sound' featuring a killer lead vocal from MC Spyda, to the original junglist drum switches of 'Reality Check' with Tenor Fly. The range is pretty crazy, with no drops in quality, especially alongside a top quality list of collaborators including Blapps Posse & Laura Streel, Scarlett Quinn, Hyperactive MC and more. We would of course suggest taking this one in on long play, but if you are looking for a couple of quick highlights, 'Puffin Da Herb' alongside Mad Doctor X gives us a more expansive look into the musical influences of the Freestylers sound, with 'Rebel Lion' giving us that festival-opener feel, alongside the incredible vocal toasting of K-OSS.

Review: Following the launch of Ballroom Radio last year thanks to a dope Kid Sublime joint outta Amsterdam, some emerging, fresh and inspired sounds make it to the label for Ballroom's second release! Yoofee first appeared on radars in 2018 before deciding to let loose in 2021, with Heavenly Poison a third release in less than 12 months. Presenting four choc-filled numbers of jazz beat fusions inspired by house, soul, R&B and all things funky, Heavenly Poison is a righteous slice of DJ bag goodness. Get your ragtime piano solos out of "Placement", extravagant, rhodesy funk in "Bruk12" to the down and dubby broken beat hit, "You Already Know". And for your stepping climbers with a touch of post-dubstep rhythm, sustained strings and disco subversively fitted, "Heavenly Poison" hits the spot.
